The solemn services, held October 20 – 21 2012, were dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of Baranovichi congregation. These services were attended by many precious church members were had grown up in the walls of the church. Many pleasant meetings and common memories were shared. An architect of the city, who saw what was happening in the hands of God, also shared his memories. The worship was adorned with the sermon of Leontiy P. Gunko, one of the pastors of the church, who spoke of God, sending His blessings only as seeds, and it depends on the soil only, that is us, whether the seeds bring fruit or not.
Here are some momentous events from the history of this congregation. God has always been a Sower who sowed the seeds of truth in the hearts of the faithful to Him. It seemed that the evil one silenced one of them, Jacob Patsukevich, by putting him behind the walls of Baranovichi prison. But the difficult situation is only opportunity for the Sower. Seed of love, hope and faith fell on Baranavichy land back in 1974. A time of freedom has enabled them to germinate. Returning back to Baranavichy in 1992 Jacob put his hand to the plough with faith and the Lord blessed his work. His co-workers came to the city, and the church was registered. To build the SDA church, an architect of the city allotted the best location – on the main arterial highway of the city, near the train and bus stations. Arthur Day and Martin Kabialko conducted evangelistic campaign, which in a year resulted the baptism of 47 souls. Banks gave funds for the construction of the church and transport companies also contributed to the building of God’s house.
God is still the Sower. He is sowing the seeds of love, peace, understanding and support, faith and missionary spirit in our hearts. The seeds, which God gave to Jacob Patsukevich yielded abundant fruit in the granary of God, and the question is: How shall we deal with the seed entrusted to us?
