Под таким библейским девизом в Украинском гуманитарном институте проходила конференция адвентистских капелланов, организованная Украинским унионом. Конференция была организована для обучения адвентистских капелланов Евро-Азиатского дивизиона. В конференции приняли участие 44 служителя Украинского униона и 14 представителей церковных организаций других территорий Евро-Азиатского дивизиона. Занятие проводили капелланы из США и Европы: Гарри Каунселл – руководитель Ассоциации капелланского служения Генеральной Конференции; Ричард Болдуин – капеллан исправительного учреждения в Ричленде и Мансфилле, штат Огайо; Кристиан Балтник – капеллан из Брюсселя.
На территории ЕАД капелланское служение только начинает развиваться. Капелланы это пасторы осуществляющие служение в исправительных, образовательных и медицинских учреждениях, армии, детских домах и других общественных и государственных институтах.
Законодательство стран, входящих в ЕАД не позволяет совершать капелланское служение так, как это происходит в западных странах. Сегодня капелланы ЕАД это пасторы, которые помимо своего служения в церковных общинах, проводят регулярное служение в тюрьмах, больницах, детских домах, реабилитационных центрах и учебных заведениях. Капелланы из-за рубежа рассказали о большом опыте своей работы, который поможет в развитии капелланского служения на территории ЕАД и поделились необходимыми для служения материалами. Пастор общины христиан веры евангельской из Украины, приглашенный на конференцию, рассказал об удивительных опытах программы «Примирение». Эта программа, нацеленная на примирение с родными и потерпевшими, которая помогает осужденным в укреплении их веры и обретения мира с Господом.
Пастор Каунселл отметил, что основным мотивом развития капелланского служения в Адвентистской церкви являются слова из Евангели: «…ибо алкал Я, и вы дали Мне есть; жаждал, и вы напоили Меня; был странником, и вы приняли Меня; был наг, и вы одели Меня; был болен, и вы посетили Меня; в темнице был, и вы пришли ко Мне» (Мф. 25:35-36). Он поблагодарил капелланов ЕАД, которые совершают свое служение в непростых условиях.

In Ukrainian Institute of Arts and Science, an Adventist Chaplaincy conference was hosted, organized by the Ukrainian Union. Under such a biblical theme, “Where Mercy, Truth, and Justice Meet Together,” the conference was organized for the teaching of adventist chaplains in Euro-Asia Division (ESD). The meeting was attended by 44 ministers of Ukrainian Union and 14 representatives of different church organizations from other parts of Euro-Asia Division. Classes were conducted by chaplains from the U.S. and Europe: Gary R. Councell, the Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries (ACM) director from the General Conference, Richard Baldwin, corrections chaplain from Richland and Mansfille, Ohio, and Christian Baltnik, a chaplain from Brussels, England.
In the territory of the ESD, Chaplaincy Ministries is just beginning to develop. Adventist chaplains are ministers serving in correctional, educational and medical institutions, in the army, in orphanages and other public and state institutions.
Certain laws of the ESD’s countries do not allow this ministry to succeed as it does in Western countries. Modern ESD’s chaplains are pastors who, in addition to their service in the church, conduct regular service in prisons, hospitals, orphanages, rehabilitation centers and schools. Chaplains from abroad related the rich experience of their work, and their support and sharing of necessary materials will help in the development of the Chaplaincy Ministries in ESD. A pastor of the Pentecostal congregation from Ukraine was also invited to the conference, and he spoke about the amazing experience of the “Reconciliation” program. This program is aimed at reconciling prisioners with their relatives and those they have injured, which helps prisoners to strengthen their faith and to find peace with God.
Pastor Councell noted that the main motive of Chaplaincy Ministries in the Adventist church are the words of the Gospel: “…For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.” (Matthew 25:35, 36). He thanked the chaplains of ESD who conduct their service in difficult conditions.
