В Духовном центре на Нагатинской в эту субботу всего было в изобилии. Большой и малый залы, балкон, лестницы – все было заполнено. Вечернее служение длилось более трех часов и при этом не казалось утомительным, все расходились воодушевленные и радостные. Но главное, первые три ряда были заполнены людьми в одеждах небесного цвета. Войти в воды крещения оказались готовы 55 человек. Конечно, это не сравнится с тысячами откликнувшимися на призыв Марка Финли 20 лет назад, но времена изменились, и сегодня мы благодарим Господа за изобилие плодов для его Царства. Среди новых членов Божьей семьи были пожилые и совсем юные; супружеская пара и родные брат с сестрой. Один мужчина познакомился со Христом еще 20 лет назад на первой программе Марка Финли, а крещение принял только сейчас. А другой – полторы недели назад около станции метро получил пригласительный билет и за восемь дней программы пришел к убеждению, что именно здесь он обретет свободу духа и атмосферу братства, заботы и любви.
Проповедь Марка Финли была посвящена грядущему Царству Божьему. Можно было видеть, что он не устает вдохновляться той картиной вечности, которую раскрывает перед нами Священное Писание. Что будут делать там спасенные, с кем общаться, как проводить время. И время там потеряет свое значение – его уже не нужно будет считать и переживать, что его не хватит. Рассказывая примеры из своей жизни, он показывал, как упование на возвращение Христа освещало светом надежды жизненный путь в трудностях и страданиях. «Входя сегодня в воды крещения, Вы делаете шаг в небо, чтобы однажды своими глазами увидеть Христа в Царствие Его и разделить с Ним вечность».
Праздник крещения стал мощным завершающим аккордом программы «Библейский путь жизни». На протяжении недели ее участниками были не только присутствовавшие в зале Духовного центра, но и сотни людей, ежедневно смотревших трансляцию программы в интернете. На сайт программы подключались люди не только из стран с традиционно большим русскоязычным населением (США, Израиль, Германия и др.), но также из Китая, Аргентины и даже Пакистана. Каждый желающий мог присоединиться к атмосфере праздника и единения во Христе, которая стала маяком, направляющим наш путь к небесам.
This Saturday in the spiritual center at Nagatinskaya, all large and small halls, balconies, and even stairs were packed. Evening service lasted more than three hours and it did not seem tedious, all who left the place were inspired and joyful. But most importantly, the first three rows were filled with people in the sky-blue robes. 55 people were ready to enter the waters of baptism. Of course, this baptism could not be compared with the thousands who responded to the appeal of Mark Finley 20 years ago, but times have changed, and today we thank God for the abundance of fruit for His kingdom. Among the new members of God’s family were aged and very young; married couple and a brother with his sister. One man became acquainted with Christ 20 years ago on the first program of Mark Finley, but was baptized only now. Yet another got an invitation a week ago near a subway station and during the 8 days of the program came to the conviction that this is the place he will find the freedom of the spirit and atmosphere of brotherhood, care and love.
Mark Finley’s sermon was dedicated to the coming God’s Kingdom. One could see that he does not tire to get inspiration from that picture of eternity, which the Scriptures reveals to us. What will the saved do during eternity, with whom with they communicate, and how will they spend their time? There time itself will lose its value, as we will not need to be worry that it will be insufficient. Sharing experiences from his own life, he showed how the hope for Christ return gave a light of hope in the course of life’s difficulties and sufferings. “By entering the waters of baptism today, you step into the Heaven to see one day Christ in His kingdom and to share with Him eternity.”
The baptism ceremony became a powerful final chord of “The Biblical way of life” program. Throughout the week its participants were not only those present in the hall of the Spiritual Center, but also hundreds of people watching the daily programs broadcast on the Internet. People not only from countries with traditionally large Russian-speaking population (the U.S., Israel, Germany, etc.), but also from China, Argentina, and even Pakistan connected to this program Everyone could join in the festive atmosphere and unity in Christ, who has become a lighthouse, guiding our way to Heaven.
