Сразу в двух ведущих образовательных учреждениях Церкви АСД – в Заокском (21-23 ноября) и в Буче (25-26 ноября), прошла Международная научно-практическая конференция на тему «Духовное наследие Е. Уайт и его богословско-миссиологическое значение для современной церкви».
В конференции приняли участие известные специалисты в области церковной истории и герменевтики: директор Центра адвентистских исследований при университете Эндрюса доктор теологии Мерлин Берт, помощник директора Центра наследия Е. Уайт Генеральной Конференции доктор философии Альберто Тимм, заместитель директора Института библейских исследований ГК доктор теологии Клинтон Уолен. В качестве спикеров от Евро-Азиатского отделения Церкви выступили Директор Центра духовно-исторического наследия Церкви АСД, декан заочного отделения Заокской духовной академии В. В. Андрусяк и директор Института библейских исследований ЕАД доктор теологии Е. В. Зайцев. 
На конференции обсуждался широкий спектр вопросов, касающихся богатейшего литературного наследия Е. Уайт, его уместности и актуальности для церкви сегодня. Докладчики, выражая свое глубокое уважение к историческому наследию церкви, вместе с тем подчеркивали важность сбалансированного восприятия роли трудов Е. Уайт, дабы не делать из них новое мерило веры и духовного опыта. По твердому убеждению самой вестницы Божией единственным мерилом истины, веры и жизненной практики всегда будет оставаться Божье Слово, Библия, авторитет которой она всегда стремилась возвышать в глазах людей. Вместе с тем участники конференции выражали озабоченность тем, что в последнее время наметилась тенденция обесценивания богодухновенного статуса трудов Е. Уайт и утраты этими трудами своей актуальности сегодня. Обе эти тенденции, гипертрофированного восприятия Вестницы Божьей, с одной стороны, и умаления ее значения в современной церкви, с другой, по мнению докладчиков, должны быть сбалансированы таким образом, чтобы как члены церкви, так и нецерковная читательская аудитория получали максимум благословений от этого бесценного духовного наследия.
The International Theoretical and Practical Conference on “The Spiritual Heritage of Ellen G. White and its theological and missiological significance for modern church” was held in the two leading educational institutions of the Seventh-day Adventist church in Euro-Asia Division (ESD), one of which is situated in Zaoksky (November 21-23) and another in Bucha (November 25-26).
The conference brought together well-known experts in the field of Church history and hermeneutics: Merlin Burt, D.Th., Adventist Studies Center director at the Andrews University, Alberto Timm, Ph.D., associate director of the Ellen G. White Estate at General Conference (GC), and Clinton Wahlen, Ph.D., deputy director of the Biblical Research Institute at GC. Speakers from the ESD were V.V. Andrusyak, director of the Centre of Spiritual and Historical Heritage of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the dean of the Correspondence department of Zaoksky Theological seminary and E.V. Zaitsev, D.Th., director of the Biblical Research Institute of ESD.
The delegates of the conference discussed a wide range of issues concerning the rich literary heritage of Ellen G. White, its appropriateness and relevance for the modern church. Expressing their deep respect for the historical heritage of the church, however, lecturers emphasized the importance of a balanced perception of the role of Ellen White, lest they should be made the new standard of faith and spiritual experience. According to the firm view of the God’s messenger herself, the only measure of truth, faith and life experience will always be God’s Word, the Bible, and the authority of which she always sought to exalt in the eyes of people. However, participants of the conference expressed their concern in connection with recent trends of depreciation of the status of inspired works of Ellen White and the loss of these works of its relevance today. According to the speakers, both trends of exaggerated perception of God’s messenger on the one hand, and diminishing her value in today’s church, on the other, should be balanced so members of the church as well as non-church readers can get the most of the blessings from this precious spiritual heritage.
