Атмосфера праздника, теплая и торжественная, начинается у вешалки, где не осталось свободных крючков. Уже в коридоре толпятся и хозяева, и гости. Радушно приветствуют друг друга люди, которые давно не виделись, ведь на праздник собрались все, кто захотел поздравить общину Адвентистов седьмого дня г. Мерефы Харьковской области с двадцатилетием со дня образования.
Здесь собрались ветераны церкви и поместной общины, пасторы, служители, которые в течение двадцати лет проводили в Мерефе служение. Зал переполнен. Присутствуют даже те члены церкви, которые из-за преклонного возраста редко посещают собрание. Много молодёжи — это юная поросль, которая поднялась за двадцать лет на корнях, посаженных самыми первыми пасторами этой общины.
Праздник начинается с молитвы благодарности Богу за Его любовь и благословения. Зал поёт псалом в сопровождении духового молодёжного оркестра из г. Знаменки, который создал и опекает пастор Николай Воронюк. Звуки инструментов, давно позабытые, вызывают слёзы. Чувствуется духовный подъём, собрание объединено в общем порыве прославления Великого Бога Отца, Иисуса Христа и Святого Духа…
Затем многочисленные гости передают приветствия из многих адвентистских общин Украины — Харькова, Винницы, Сум, Чернигова, Днепропетровска, Запорожья и других — поздравляют с юбилеем и желают обильных Божьих благословений.
Торжественную часть открывает трио юных скрипачей. На сцене — ведущие юбилейной программы две молодые супружеские пары — Александр и Неля Тарасенко, Юрий и Ирина Щербак. Они погружают зал в атмосферу прошлого: перед глазами проходит хроника прошедших двадцати лет, когда в Мерефе Джеймс Гилли проводил евангельскую программу. Тогда крестилось восемь человек, с которых и началась история этой церкви. Называются даты, памятные события того периода.
Первый пастор общины — Николай Смаль со своей супругой Верой делится воспоминаниями о тех нелёгких годах становления адвентистской церкви в Мерефе. Его слова благодарности адресованы первым активистам церкви, особенно семье Александра и Натальи Тарасенко, которые радушно давали приют и пастору, и пастве.
Собрание в знак памяти о прошлом поёт псалом без музыкального сопровождения, как это было в те первые годы…
Второй пастор церкви — Сергей Шевелев, который служил здесь один год, не присутствует на этом собрании, но воспоминания о нём проникнуты теплотой и благодарностью.
Ведущие читают тексты из Библии о Мироздании, проводя аналогию с образованием общины-юбиляра. Периоды истории церкви сменяют друг друга, и вот на сцену приглашается третий пастор — Виктор Хорошко с женой Надеждой. Он вспоминает места, где собиралась община, насыщенность духовной жизни церкви, дух ревности в служении Господу.
В зале тускнеет свет. Проникновенно и душевно поют сёстры из местной общины, а на экране демонстрируются слайды из прошлых лет и современные — вот проходит собрание, вот праздник в общине, свадьбы, рождения детей, а вот и водное крещение новых членов церкви — атмосфера в аудитории благоговейна, сердца открыты и на глазах слёзы… На фото дети, которые сегодня уже имеют своих детей, молодые люди, которые сегодня уже бабушки и дедушки… Слова, музыка, пение — все прославляет Спасителя Христа, Его великую любовь и обильные благословения, которые испытала Мерефянская община за двадцать лет.
Ведущие продолжают отсчитывать время. Сменяют друг друга события, факты, духовные опыты. На сцене — Александр Слюсарский с супругой Витой. Именно он, хотя служил пастором в Мерефе всего три месяца, приобрёл молитвенный дом, в котором церковь собирается и сегодня. Александр отлично помнит этот город, прекрасных гостеприимных членов общины, он благодарен Господу за то, что был причастным к упомянутым событиям и высказывает пожелания светлого будущего для Мерефянской церкви.
Ещё одного пастора — Владимира Лысого — нет на празднике, но о нём звучат со сцены добрые слова с признанием самоотверженного служения.
Проникновенная скрипичная музыка уводит слушателя в чистый и прекрасный мир небес, позволяя ощутить Божье присутствие. Стихи о сотворении мира помогают взглянуть на праздник с высоты небес: как у Бога всё гармонично и чудесно задумано, начиная с первых дней творения и до наших благословенных дней.
Евгений Дьяконов, который возглавлял пятый период становления церкви, все ещё мыслями и душой с общиной, благодарит актив и членов церкви за помощь и поддержку. На его глазах происходило возмужание и духовный рост верующих, выросли дети, стали сильными и солидными те, кто ещё совсем недавно были юными и молодыми.
Детский ансамбль поёт псалмы об Иисусе. Нежные голоса, подобные ангельским, проникают в души присутствующих, унося их в мир бескорыстной любви и счастья. Дети читают стихи о Боге, в них обещание быть со Спасителем и служить Ему.
В выступлении молодёжи — сценка из современной жизни с её проблемами, занятостью, стремлением к материальному благополучию, где некогда пообщаться, всё быстро, мимолётно. И вот суббота — но нет времени заглянуть в сердце, поблагодарить Всевышнего. Что же важнее в нашей жизни!? Со сцены звучит животрепещущий вопрос: остаётся ли у нас время для Бога?
Члены церкви слышат приветствия от представителей адвентистской церкви в Харьковской области. Николаю Воронюку от волнения трудно говорить, слёзы благодарности за Божье водительство вызывают ответные слёзы у присутствующих. Слова краткие, скупые, но сколько чувств!
Действующий пастор Тимофей Кирдан (и его супруга Любовь) в выступлении говорит о сегодняшних проблемах и благословениях для церкви, в частности, о реконструкции молитвенного дома, о молодёжном и детском служениях, о будущем, которое он видит нелёгким, но светлым.
Михаил Микитюк особое внимание уделяет церковной молодёжи, которую называет творческой, думающей и прославляющей Бога. Он считает Мерефу кузницей молодых кадров, уверен, что Иисус поможет местной церкви расти количественно и качественно.
На сцене молодёжь, которая проникновенно поёт о могучем изумительном Боге, а в это время на экране распускаются бутоны, расцветают прекрасные цветы, кажется, что чудный аромат проникает в зал, наполняет чувством благоговения и поклонения Создателю. Дальше в едином порыве в сопровождении духового оркестра зал поёт псалом «Радость и благодарение», внутренне откликаясь на его мажорное настроение и безграничную любовь к Господу.
Заключительный аккорд праздничной программы — молитва всех служителей и пасторов. Вознося руки над собранием, они просят благословения на будущее, чтобы вера людей укреплялась, духовность возрастала, церковь росла численно, а путь её был чист и незапятнан.
Пение псалмов под духовой оркестр. Праздничный обед. Дружеские рукопожатия, добрые пожелания. Праздник завершен. Его участники не устают славить Бога за благословения, за Церковь, за юбилей и за всё, что у них есть!
Warm and solemn atmosphere of feast begins at a vestibule, where one can hardly find a vacant hook to hang his coat. The hall is crowded with the hosts and guests. People who have not met for a long time greet each other. The festive occasion gathered all who want to congratulate the members of the Seventh-day Adventist church in Merefa, Kharkiv region, with the twentieth anniversary from the day of establishment.
The event brought together veterans of the church and the local community, pastors, and ministers, who have been carrying out the ministry in Merefa for twenty years. The hall is overcrowded. There are even those members who rarely attend worships because of their age. Many young people – this is a young growth, which rose on the roots planted by the very first pastors of this community twenty years ago.
The event begins with a prayer of gratitude to God for His love and blessings. People sing the hymn, accompanied by the Youth Orchestra of Znamenka, which was created and now being conducted by pastor Nikolai Voronyuk. Sounds of instruments that have been forgotten cause tears. You can feel uplifted, the community is united in a common impulse worshiping Great God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit …
Then, many guests share greetings from many Adventist communities o Ukraine – Kharkov, Vinnitsa, Sumy, Chernihov, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporozhzhye and others – they congratulate with the anniversary and wish abundant blessings from God.
The trio of young violinists opens the official part. On stage are standing the presenters of the anniversary program, two young couples – Alexander and Nelia Tarasenko, as well as Yuriy and Irina Shcherbak. They plunged those present into atmosphere of the past: the chronicle of the past twenty years passes before your eyes, that time when James Gilley carried out the evangelic program in Merefa. Eight people were baptized with whom the history of this church began. Memorable events and dates of that period are being recollected.
The first pastor of the community – Nicholay Smal and his wife Vera share memories of those difficult years of the formation period in Merefa Adventist Church. His first words of gratitude addressed to the activists of the church, especially to the family of Alexander and Natalia Tarasenko, who gave shelter and welcomed the pastor and his flock.
In the memory of the past and those early years church members are singing the psalm without musical accompaniment as it used to be that time…
The second pastor – Sergey Shevelev who served here for one year, is not present at the meeting, but the memories about him are full of warmth and gratitude.
The presenters read verses from the Bible about the universe, drawing an analogy with the formation of the church celebrating anniversary. Periods in the history of the church come and go, and the third pastor is invited to the stage – Victor Khoroshko with his wife Nadezhda. He recalls the gathering place of the community, richness of the spiritual life of the church, the spirit of zeal in serving the Lord.
There’s a dim light in the hall. Sisters from the local community are sincerely singing and the slides of the past and the present are being shown on the screen – here is the worship, the festive occasions, weddings, dediction of children, and here is the baptism of new members of the church – the atmosphere is reverential, hearts are opened and tears in the eyes … There are photos of young people who have their own children today, young people who are grandparents now … Words, music, singing – all glorifying Christ the Savior and His great love and abundant blessings experienced by the community in Merefa for the last twenty years.
The presenters continue counting out the time. Facts, events, spiritual experiences change each other. Slyusarsky Alexander and his wife Vita are standing on the stage. It was he who bought a house of worship, in which the church is gathered today, though served as pastor in Merefa just for three months. Alexander remembers this great city, hearty welcome of the church members, he is grateful to the Lord for having been involved in the mentioned events and he wishes the bright future to Merefa’s church.
Another pastor, Vladimir Lysiy, is not present today, but kind words with the recognition of selfless service are heard from the stage.
Moving violin music takes the listener into a pure and beautiful world of heaven, allowing to feel God’s presence. Verses about the creation help to look at the celebration from the height of heaven, as God designed everything in such a harmonious and wonderful way, from the first days of the creation to our blessed days.
Eugene Diakonov, who led the fifth period of the Church, is still with the community with all his thoughts and soul. He is thankful to the activists and the church members for their help and support. He saw the maturing and spiritual growth of the believers, as well as he saw the children who grew up and became strong and solid people.
The group of children sings psalms about Jesus. Gentle voices, like those of angels, get into the soul of those present, taking them into a world of unconditional love and happiness. Children read poems about God with promises to be with the Savior and serve Him.
In the performance of young people – there’s a small sketch about modern life with its problems, being busy, yearning for material wellbeing, when one has no time to talk, everything around is so fast and fleeting. And here comes Sabbath – but there’s no time to look into the heart, to thank God. What is more important in our lives? The question of vital importance sounds from the stage: Do we have time for God?
Church members heard many greetings from the representatives of the Adventist church in Kharkiv region. Nicholay Voronyuk can hardly say a word, tears of gratitude for God’s guidance draw tears from the audience. Words are short, plain, but how much sense!
The pastor of this community, Timofey Kirdan (and his wife Lyubov), in his speech says about today’s problems and blessings for the church, in particular, about the reconstruction of a house of worship, youth and children’s ministry, the future he sees a difficult one, but bright.
Michail Mikityuk pays special attention to the youth of the church, who have very creative mind, always praising and thinking about God. He believes Merefa to be the talent foundry of young workers for God. He is sure that Jesus will help the local church to grow in quantity and quality.
Young people are singing about the amazing and mighty God, at the same time buds of beautiful flowers are blossoming out on the screen. It seems like a wonderful aroma fills the room with a sense of awe and worship of the Creator. Then in unison, accompanied by an orchestra people sing the “Joy and thanksgiving” psalm, responding deep inside their hearts to its major mood and boundless love for the Lord.
The final chord of the festive program is the prayer of all the ministers and pastors. Lifting up their hands over the people, they ask for blessings for the future that people’s faith to be strengthened, that they could grow spiritually and in number of the church members, and so that their way was straight and pure.
Singing songs accompanied by the orchestra. Festive dinner. Friendly handshake, good wishes. The celebration is over. Its members do not get tired to praise God for His blessings to the Church, for the anniversary and for everything they have!
