Перед наступлением Рождества многие ожидают чуда и становятся более восприимчивыми к вести о Боге и друг другу. Чудо совершил Бог и в нашем городе, Ашхабаде. Раньше мы не проводили праздник Рождества для взрослых как специальную евангельскую программу, только для детей, но взрослые – такие же дети в Рождество. Когда появились пригласительные на Рождественскую программу для взрослых, и мы приглашали родных, знакомых, соседей, коллег, то они удивлялись: «Для взрослых? Ладно, придем…»
Сама программа превзошла все ожидания, пришло очень много людей, примерно в два с половиной раза больше, чем членов церкви. Гостям очень понравилось и пение, и викторина, и проповедь, и призы – маленькие елочные шарики за правильные ответы. В викторине на знание истории Рождества активно участвовали новые люди, и узнавали для себя много нового. После окончания программы многие гости не торопились расходиться и даже остались на молитвенное служение.
Была игра, когда соревновались команды – каждый стол – одна команда, и это очень сблизило незнакомых до программы людей, потом они активно поддерживали друг друга и сопереживали. Атмосфера была дружеская и благословенная – это чувствовали все приглашенные, а один человек решил остаться в церкви и посещает группу. Мы очень рады, что провели программу Рождества для взрослых.
Дети тоже не остались без Рождественской программы, которая состоялась через неделю, 30 декабря. Они ее очень ждали. В Рождественской сценке они участвовали вместе с взрослыми, все были в костюмах разных животных и в конце сценария пришли поклониться Царю Царей – рожденному младенцу Иисусу. Вначале, когда только дети заходили в зал их сразу регистрировали и знаете кто? Ангел в белом с большими крыльями, это получилось очень символично. Каждому на грудь крепилась булавочка с елочным шариком, ленточкой, и с именем самого ребенка. Количество детей тоже превзошло все ожидания – больше 140. Места не хватало взрослым. Были загадки, соревнования вопросам и хитрым загадкам. Сверкающие искорки в глазах детей еще долго будут в нашей памяти. В конце все получили подарки, которые нам любезно предложили по сниженной цене уже второй год подряд.
Очень радостно было смотреть в зал и видеть лица наших дорогих, любимых коренных жителей нашей страны, а их было не меньше половины из числа присутствующих. Евангелие стирает все культурные и религиозные барьеры! Очень высокую оценку детской программе дал пастор одной из церквей, который привел к нам на праздник своих детей. Он сказал, что Бог через нашу церковь на таких праздниках для городских детей ломает сложившиеся в обществе традиции и показывает, Кого нужно славить в новогодние дни; что Новый год – это не елка и Дед Мороз, а благодарение Богу за удивительный Подарок, который Он сделал всему человечеству – Своего Сына. Мы надеемся и верим, что семена истины, посеянные на этих встречах, в свое время дадут много-много добрых всходов.
Слава и благодарение Господу за программы, новых людей, посвященность тех, кто готовил программы и тех, кто их поддерживал. Благодарение Господу за место, где нас встречают и идут навстречу и особая благодарность за каждого, кого привел Бог, чтобы стать еще ближе к Нему!
Before Christmas many people wait for a miracle and become more sensitive to God’s message and to one another. Such a miracle happened in our town, Ashkhabad. Before we didn’t make the Christmas holiday an evangelistic program for adults, it was just a time for kids. But at Christmas, adults are the same as children. When we gave invitation cards to our friends, neighbors and relatives, they were surprised. “Is it also for adults? Yes? Okay, we will come,” they said.
Many people came to the program, and it exceeded all expectations. The number of church members was half as much as the guests of the program. The guests liked the singing, the quiz game, the sermon, and the prizes, which were small Christmas decorations. In Christmas history quiz, participants took an active part and learned many new facts. After the program the guests didn’t want to go away, so they stayed for the prayer meeting.
A fun, competitive gave was played, so that people who hadn’t known each other before the program became friends and sympathized with each other. The atmosphere was friendly and blessed. All who were invited felt warm and welcomed. One man decided to go to church and also came to the prayer meeting. We are glad to have opportunity to conduct the Christmas program for adults.
Kids were not left without a Christmas program, for it took place a week later, on the 30th of December. They greatly anticipated the program. When kids came into the hall at the beginning of the program an angel dressed in white with large wings registered them. Children wore a paper Christmas decoration with their name on it. More than 140 kids attended. They took part in the Christmas performance together with adults. All of the children wore costumes of different animals and at the end of the scenario, they came to bow before the King of kings, born baby Jesus. There were not enough seats for the adults. There were riddles, questions and competitions. At the end of the program, all of the kids received presents, which we were able to acquire at a bargain price. We were happy to see the faces of our dear and beloved native citizens of our country. The number of native children reached half of all the attendants. The Gospel erases all cultural and religious barriers!
The program for children received a high appraisal from a pastor of another denomination who had brought his children to the holiday program. He said that God, through our church, and with the help of such holidays, destroys societal traditions, and emphasizes that we should glorify God during New Year’s holidays. The New Year Day is no significant because of a tree or Santa Claus, but as a special day to give thanksgiving to God for His amazing gift of Jesus Christ to our earth.
We hope that these seeds of truth, sowed at the programs, will spout in due time. We give all of the glory to the Lord for the programs, new people, and the devotion of the church members who prepared and supported them. Thanks to God for the place, where people met our requests and special thanks for every person who came to the meetings!
