Двое юношей и девушка из адвентистских общин Санкт-Петербурга выступили в программе «В гостях у Радио Теос» 30 марта. В прямом эфире субботним вечером они вели речь о том, что такое честность.
Судя по активным звонкам радиослушателей, честность является проблемой в современном обществе. Например, ребятам задали такой вопрос: «Насколько отличаются Божии представления относительно честности от человеческих?»
А, в самом деле, что мешает людям жить честно? И можно ли сегодня быть абсолютно честным? Многие люди утверждают, что ценят честность в друзьях, коллегах, партнерах по бизнесу, но сами не всегда поступают честно. Почему? Что заставляет одних людей легко изменять собственным нравственным ценностям, а других – быть честными даже, казалось бы, вопреки собственным интересам?
Ребята делились личным опытом, обсуждали мотивы, которые побуждают их быть искренними и поступать правдиво в различных ситуациях. Они говорили о том, что выбор христианина – жить честно и побуждать к этому других, потому что к этому призывает Слово Божие, что для них самих главный мотив – вера в Бога, оставившего людям свои заповеди. Конечно, даже верующему человеку решение быть честным иногда дается непросто. Но в итоге такое решение всегда оборачивается благословением.
В завершение программы прозвучали слова апостола Павла из послания Филиппийцам (4:8): «Наконец, братия мои, что только истинно, что честно, что справедливо, что чисто, что любезно, что достославно, что только добродетель и похвала, о том помышляйте». Ребята пожелали слушателям следовать Божьему принципу честности.

Three young Adventists, two men and one woman, were invited to participate in the program called “Radio Theos Special Guests” on March 30, 2013. The Saturday night program was broadcasted live and the theme was honesty.
Judging by the response and the numerous calls from the audience, the radio program deemed that honesty is a big issue in today’s society. In particular, listeners asked the Adventist group if there was a difference between God’s understanding of honesty and human perception of the term.
Such questions were raised:
Really and truly, what prevents people from being honest?
Is it possible to be completely honest nowadays?
Many people say that they value honesty of their friends, colleagues and business partners, but they themselves are not always honest. Why?
What makes some people to easily reject their own moral values, while others to remain true even when it is seemingly detrimental to their well-being?
The young people shared their experiences with the audience and discussed what motivated them to remain honest in different life situations. They said that Christian should deliberately choose honesty and encourage others to do so as well, because the word of God teaches that. Indeed, they said that their faith in God and His commandments was their main motivation to be honest. They admitted that even Christians struggle with honesty, but following God always pays off as a great blessing.
At the end of the program the young Adventists left the audience with the words of Apostle Paul, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.” Phil. 4:8 (NIV). They wished their listeners to follow God’s principle of honesty.
