– Я думала: север, холод, замороженные люди, а оказалось, что здесь замечательная, веселая и сильная команда!
– Мне почему-то очень хотелось поехать в Архангельск и теперь я знаю, почему: здесь потрясающая атмосфера!
Таковы отзывы гостей о региональном молодёжном слёте под названием «NEWтон», который проходил 3 и 4 мая в Архангельске. Всего на слете собралось около 35 молодых, энергичных ребят из Архангельска, Северодвинска, Вологды, Санкт-Петербурга, Пушкина, Мурманска, Кандалакши и Плесецка. С ними была руководитель Отдела молодежного служения Северо-Западной конференции – Ирина Воробьева. Многие гости впервые посетили город, кто-то впервые побывал на молодежном слете, были и те, кто вообще впервые перешагнул порог Церкви адвентистов седьмого дня.
Времени для общения было намного меньше, чем хотелось бы, программа была очень насыщенной –нужно было всё успеть за два неполных дня! В пятницу ребята познакомились, сыграли в знаменитую игру «Снежный ком» (последнему человеку аплодировали все, ведь запомнить больше 30 имен сразу – непростая задача!). Затем послушали вебинар на тему «Три искушения Христа» – Александр Турецкий не смог присутствовать с нами лично, тем не менее интернет позволил ему провести духовные размышления с нами.
Затем был «крутой маршрут» в центре города в снегопад и сильный ветер, и следовательно, масса впечатлений. Ещё бы – ведь для выполнения некоторых заданий нужно было просить помощи у прохожих! Люди просьбам удивлялись, но в помощи не отказывали.
Суббота стала настоящим праздником для церкви Архангельска. Во время молодёжного богослужения, Олеся, Кирилл и Вячеслав заключили завет с Богом. Мы вновь убедились, что пути Бога неисповедимы – Кирилл и Слава многое узнали о Боге и церкви через интернет, а Олеся фактически вернулась в церковь, в которую в детстве ее приводила мама! Вся церковь была покорена историями ребят и их знанием Библии, а «новорождённые» были поражены тем, что столько людей искренне рады за них.
Было множество поздравлений, подарков, Олесе же было оказано повышенное внимание –день крещения совпал с днем ее рождения!
После праздничного обеда снова были игры, общение, была возможность задать Александру Турецкому интересующий вопрос, на который он отвечал по скайпу. Вопросов было немало!
В завершение дня гости поделились впечатлениями о слете, а в качестве напоминания о чудесно проведенном времени все участники получили кружки с эмблемой слета. Теперь воспоминания точно будут всех долго согревать!
Настала пора прощаться, гости разъехались, тем не менее местной молодежи настолько хотелось еще хоть ненадолго продлить удовольствие от общения, что 14 человек остались в церкви до утра воскресенья. Всё-таки прав был Давид, когда написал: «Как хорошо и как приятно быть братьям вместе»!

These are some responses of the regional youth meeting called “NEWtone” held May 3 and 4 in Arkhangelsk. Total at the meeting were about 35 young, energetic girls and guys from Arkhangelsk, Severodvinsk, Vologda, St. Petersburg, Pushkin, Murmansk, Kandalaksha and Plesetsk. With them was Irina Vorobyova, Youth Ministry director of the North-Western Conference. Many guests visited the city and the youth meeting for the first time. Also there were those who first crossed the threshold of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Time for dialogue was much less than we would like to have, and the program was full of content. It was necessary to do everything for the two incomplete days! On Friday, the guys met, and played in the famous game “Snowball” (the last man was clapped by all, because he remembered more than 30 names at once – not an easy task!). Then they listen to a webinar on “Three temptations of Christ.” However Alexander Turetsky, the speaker, was unable to be present with us in person, the Internet allowed him to share the spiritual reflections with us.
Then there was the “cool route” in the center of the city in the snow and strong wind, and therefore we had a lot of impressions. After all, in order to perform certain tasks one had to ask for help from passers-by! People marveled at the request, but did not refuse to help.
Sabbath day was a real celebration for the church of Arkhangelsk. During the youth worship, Olesya, Cyril and Vyacheslav made a covenant with the Lord. Once again, we have seen that God’s ways are inscrutable – Cyril and Vyacheslav have learned a lot about God and the Church through the Internet, and Olesya actually went back to the church, which she visited in her childhood with her Mom! The whole church was conquered by the stories of children and by their knowledge of the Bible, and the newborn “babies” were amazed that so many people are genuinely happy for them.
There was a lot of compliments and gifts. Olesya been rendered special attention – the day of her baptism coincided with her birthday!
After a festive dinner we again had games, chatting, and the opportunity to ask Alexander Turetsky interesting question, to which he replied on Skype. There were many questions!
At the end of the day, guests shared their impressions of the meeting, and as a wonderful reminder of the time spent, all participants received a mug with the logo of the gathering. Now all the memories will definitely warm everyone for a long time!
Then it was a time to say goodbye. The guests had left, but the local youth so wanted to prolong the pleasure of communicating for a while that 14 people remained in the church until Sunday morning. After all, David was right when he wrote: “How good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”
