В начале июля 22 следопыта и семь наставников прибыли в Карелию. Автобусы высадили группу на берегу красивейшего Шотозера. Ребята были настроены по-боевому и готовы преодолеть все трудности и преграды, которые приготовила для них река. А трудности не заставили себя ждать. Озеро встретило сильным штормом. Но никто и не думал поворачивать назад. Ребята дружно принялись накачивать рафты – надувные лодки, каждая из которых вмещает около 10 человек. После торжественной линейки разделились на четыре команды и спустили судна на воду.
Первый день похода выдался на редкость тяжелым. Волны не давали лодкам продвигаться вперед, хотя ребята гребли изо всех сил. Поняв, что стихия сильнее и двигаться по воде невозможно, ребята сошли на берег и потащили лодки на буксире до ближайшей мало-мальски удобной стоянки. И хотя в тот день нам не удалось преодолеть намеченный отрезок пути, это не сломило дух путешественников. После ужина ребята как никогда внимательно слушали наставление из Библии и молились о том, чтобы Господь помог им двигаться вперед.
На другой день ветер продолжал гнать волны, но все равно не смог испортить хорошего настроения ребят. Бороться с волнами командам помогали песни. Несмотря на все усилия в этот день группа опять не смогла дойти до назначенного места. Зато трудности сплотили экипажи, ребята научились слаженно работать над выполнением поставленной задачи.
Какие бы ненастья ни случались в нашей жизни, после них обязательно приходит затишье. Проснувшись в палатках на третий день, путешественники с радостью обнаружили, что погода изменилась: Шотозеро успокоилось и радовало своей красотой. Прославив Бога и хорошенько позавтракав, команды вновь двинулись в путь. За этот день легко преодолели расстояние, которое рассчитывали пройти за три дня, полюбовались Вагатозером и вышли в русло реки Шуя.
Остальные дни были солнечными и теплыми. Несколько раз начинал моросить дождик, но ребята его не замечали. Не до дождика, когда надо проводить лодки через пороги. Все было здорово: привалы в живописных местах, духовные размышления по вечерам, экстрим и приключения. Особенно впечатлил порог Большой Толь. Сложные условия, с которыми ребятам пришлось столкнуться, по их словам, помогли им закалить характер.
Павел Аристов: «Сплав в Карелии мне очень понравился тем, что было очень весело и много-много классных впечатлений».
Максим Волков: «Хоть и трудно было, но круто! На этом сплаве можно было проверить себя: какой ты выносливый и терпеливый. Приехав домой, я сожалею, что такого больше не повторится. Мне очень понравился сплав, и команда хорошая была, все супер!»
Михаил Степанов: «Было тяжело, боль в мышцах, усталость, но было довольно интересно и ради этого можно было пожертвовать своими силами, чтобы ощутить настоящую природу».

At the beginning of July 22 pathfinders and seven mentors arrived to Karelia. The group arrived to a beautiful Lake Shotozero. The children were in a fighting spirit and were ready to overcome all difficulties and obstacles that the lake prepared for them. And the difficulties do not keep them waiting. The Lake met them with a severe storm. But no one thought about turning back. The boys began to inflate rafts together, each of which can accommodate about 10 people. After the official lineup they were divided into four teams and lowered the boat in the water.
The first day of the trip was unusually difficult. The waves did not allow boats to move forward, even though the boys were rowing hard. Realizing that the element is stronger than them and that they cannot move through the water, the children went ashore and dragged the boats by a tow to the nearest more or less convenient staging post. And although that day we were not able to cover the planned destination, it had not broken the spirit of the travelers. After dinner, the children listened carefully to the instruction from the Bible like never before and prayed that the Lord would help them to move forward.
The next day the wind continued to make waves, but still could not spoil the good mood of the children. Songs helped the teams to fight the waves. Despite all efforts this day the group once again failed to reach the appointed place. But the difficulties unified the crews, they have learned to work smoothly over the execution of the task given.
Whatever storms happen in our lives they are always followed by calmness. When the travelers woke up in their tents on the third day they were happy to find that the weather had changed: the Shotozero calmed down and delighted us by its beauty. After glorifying God and having a good breakfast, the team set out once again. During this day they easily overcame the distance that they planned to pass for three days, they admire the Vagatozero and arrived to the riverbed of Shuya.
The rest of the days were sunny and warm. Several times the rain started to drizzle, but the children did not notice it. You do not pay attention to rain when you have to carry the boat through the rapids. Everything was great: halts in picturesque places, spiritual meditation in the evenings, extreme and adventures. They were particularly impressed by rapid called the Bolshoy Tol. Children say that difficult conditions which they had to face, helped them to temper the character.
Pavel Aristov: “I really enjoyed rafting in Karelia because there was a lot of fun and lots of awesome impressions”.
Maxim Volkov: “Although it was hard, it was cool! One could test himself during this rafting: to what extent you are tough and patient. After coming back home I regret that it will not be repeated. I enjoyed rafting very much and we have a good team”.
Michael Stepanov: “It was hard, you could feel pain in your muscles and tiredness, but it was very interesting and you can sacrifice your energy to see real nature”.
