Оркестр прославил Бога духовными произведениями, среди которых известное «Чудное озеро Гениссаретское». Его, к слову, в обработке Анатолия Сажина, Брест услышал первым. Слушателям настолько понравилось, что молдаванам пришлось исполнить эту мелодию несколько раз. А вечером оркестр благовествовал о Божьей любви жителям агрогородка Черни Брестского района, играя там под открытым небом.
В воскресенье гости из Молдовы выступали уже на сцене Брестского областного общественно-культурного центра в программе благотворительного концерта. Сердец слушателей коснулись песни в исполнении хора «Глория», трио «Притяжение небес» (г. Брест) и солиста Романа Миронюка из Пинска. Акция, организованная Адвентистской церковью г. Бреста под девизом «Поделитесь с детьми частичкой счастья», собрала более 10 миллионов белорусских рублей. На эти средства церковь купит мебель для Пинской государственной общеобразовательной школы-интерната для детей-сирот и детей, оставшихся без попечения родителей им. К. Е. Казакова.
Название «Адвентистские трубы» оркестр носит не случайно. Христос вернется на землю под звуки труб, а Церковь адвентистов седьмого дня верит в это скорое событие. Возвещать трубой о скором Втором пришествии Христа – такова миссия этого музыкального коллектива, который, к слову, является участником различных фестивалей духовной музыки, проходивших не только в его родной Молдове.
В Брест оркестр, состоящий из 20 молодых людей (самой младшей участнице коллектива – 12), приехал из села Новая Ивановка, Чимишлийского района Молдовы. Туда для оркестровых занятий съезжаются музыканты из трех сел. Анатолий же из деревни Логонешта, которая находится в 25 километрах от Новой Ивановки. С духовым оркестром он работает пятый год, но основан этот коллектив семь лет назад, и его первый руководителья Андрей Жентимир. Музыкант-любитель собрал ребят, нашел старые инструменты (еще 1978 года выпуска), партитуру, и с Божьей помощью взялся за дело. Через год коллектив, среди участников которого не было никого даже с начальным музыкальным образованием, зазвучал так, что руководитель понял: таланты просто необходимо развивать дальше! А если бы в их руках были еще и новые инструменты… Господь помог решить оба вопроса: вскоре нашелся спонсор и профессиональный музыкант, готовый бесплатно заниматься с ребятами, делясь с ними всем своим мастерством. Андрей Жентимир стал работать совместно с выпускником Кишиневской консерватории Анатолием Сажиным. Первый индивидуально разучивает с каждым оркестрантом партии, второй – репетирует уже со всеми вместе.
Заметим, в оркестре играют даже четыре девушки (хочется отметить – вовсе не слабого пола!).
– Женщина в духовом оркестре – почти то же самое, что женщина в армии. Требования для всех одинаковы. Некоторые девушки не выдержали сложностей и через несколько репетиций ушли, – рассказывает дирижер. – Чтобы играть в духовом оркестре, нужны силы, поэтому мы принимаем музыкантов не младше 12 лет. Это большой труд!
Как замечает Анатолий Сажин, в Евро-Азиатстком дивизионе, это единственный коллектив, укомплектованный действительно очень хорошими духовыми инструментами. Музыканты расставлены так, чтобы звук выходил из середины оркестра и шел в одну точку. Таким образом, получается сразу микшированный продукт. Заметим, это профессиональная находка самого Анатолия Сажина, который о себе говорит по-христиански скромно: «В первую очередь я служитель Господу, а уже потом и композитор, и оркестровщик, и дирижер».
К слову, коллектив Анатолия Сажина получил официальное предложение играть в 2015 году на Съезде Генеральной Конференции, который состоится в Америке, в штате Техас. И он уже начал готовить программу!
– Это большая ответственность, и я попросил ребят, чтобы пока никто не уходил из оркестра, – рассказал дирижер. – Пятеро музыкантов в этом году окончили школу и собираются поступать в вуз, так что теперь им три раза в неделю придется приезжать на репетиции, преодолевая до 60 километров в одну сторону!
Как замечает Анатолий Сажин, адвентисты во многих странах играют еще старенькие оркестровки, например, 70-х годов. А вот слушая его оркестр, люди понимают, что это совершенно новый качественный уровень, новый подход, новые трактовки.
– Мы ушли от того, что духовой оркестр и марш советских времен – то же самое. Это не правильно. Мы взяли классику, спиричуэлс, есть и церковные обработки. Стараемся в каждое произведение внести свою изюминку, чтобы было интересно. Например, есть такой прием, как «поезд». То есть музыка сначала звучит медленно, а потом все быстрей и быстрей.
Слава Богу за эти находки, за то, что музыка в исполнении христианского оркестра из Молдовы затрагивает струны души и проникает в сердца слушателей.
Бог дает нам талант и возможности, а успех, как известно, зависит от того, как человек ими воспользуется. В это трудно поверить, но в детстве Анатолий Сажин музыку… не любил.
– Папа заставлял меня идти в музыкальную школу, – признается сегодня маэстро. – Я был в четвертом классе, но не знал, кто мой преподаватель по сольфеджио, пока отец не предпринял определенные меры. Лишь поступив в музыкальный колледж, я узнал, что у меня… абсолютный слух! У меня были худшие оценки среди всех поступающих, но так как был недобор, я все же прошел. А вот уже с 3-го курса у меня были только «десятки», потому что я понял, что должен учиться. Понял, что у меня дар от Бога. Я полюбил музыку! Сейчас музыка – моя жизнь.
Анатолий Сажин окончил Кишиневскую консерваторию. В студенческие годы он создал свой духовой оркестр, пел в камерном хоре.
– Как-то мы организовали турне по Европе. У нас было 120 произведений, и я знал наизусть все слова, задавал тональность, помогая дирижеру, – вспоминает он.
Можно подумать, что диплом Анатолий Сажин получил со специальностью дирижера. На самом же деле – руководить оркестром его, дипломированного музыковеда и композитора, научил Сам Бог.
– По классу дирижирования я занимался всего три урока. Папа порекомендовал мне своего учителя и направил к нему заниматься. Я согласился, хотя и не хотел. На первом уроке мы с преподавателем составили график занятий. На втором я взял программу, узнал некоторые нюансы: постановку рук и так далее. Когда же пришел на третий урок, то, поздоровавшись, сообщил, что больше дирижированием заниматься не буду, потому что… не люблю. Но когда я стал заниматься со своим оркестром, мои руки стали двигаться сами. Случалось, на наших концертах присутствовали профессора Московской консерватории, дирижеры. Они потом спрашивали, где я учился. Узнав эту историю, понимали, что я живу музыкой. Я пою сердцем, мозгами, руками…
Путь служения не может быть легким и простым, но Господь помогает преодолевать даже самые суровые испытания и переживать потери. В 2012 году, отыграв на похоронах, оркестр Анатолия Сажина по дороге домой попал в страшное ДТП. Пятеро музыкантов погибли, многие получили серьезные травмы и прошли долгий путь восстановления. Из-за определенных последствий некоторым играть на трубе теперь стало труднее. Несмотря на случившееся и гибель в той аварии родных и друзей, сегодня ребята снова в строю.
– Авария поменяла наше отношение к жизни и к служению Богу. Мы понимаем, что не все ценили то, что имели, не все понимали, что это надо делать для Бога на высоком уровне, – признался Анатолий Сажин. – Участники оркестра играют не ради денег. Когда человек ничего не получает за свою работу, у него иная мотивация. У нас это – посвященное служение Богу. Мы работаем для тех, кто нуждается в нашей помощи. Когда мы сами попали в беду, некоторые преодолели тысячи километров, чтобы помочь.
Слава Богу за то, что Бог всегда рядом, в какой бы части земного шара мы ни находились. Хвала Творцу за благоприятное время в Бресте. Здесь через музыкальное служение мы на музыкальном языке могли открыть людям жизнь и характер Иисуса Христа, Который сказал: «Блаженнее давать, нежели принимать».
Orchestra glorified God playing spiritual music, including the famous “The Wonderful Lake of Gennesaret”. Citizens of Brest were the first ones to hear this piece of music arranged by Anatoliy Sazhin. The listeners liked it so much that Moldovians had to perform this melody several times. And in the evening the orchestra preached about God’s love to the residents of agricultural settlement Tcherny of Brest region, they played outside.
On Sunday guests from Moldova performed on the stage Brest regional socio-cultural center taking part in a charitable concert. The listeners were touched by songs performed by the choir “Gloria”, trio “The attraction of heaven” (Brest) and soloist Roman Mironyuk from Pinsk. Due to these charitable action organized by the Adventist Church of Brest under the motto “Share happiness with children” we were able to collect more than 10 million Belarus rubles. With these funds, the church will buy furniture for Pinsk state boarding school named after K. E. Kazakov.
The name of this band is “Adventist Trumpets” and it is not accidental. Christ will return to earth to the sound of trumpets, and the Seventh-day Adventist Church believes in this imminent event. The mission of this musical group is to proclaim the imminent Second Coming of Christ playing trumpets. This band has taken part in various festivals of sacred music held not only in their home country Moldova.
This band consisting of 20 young people (the youngest one is 12) came to Brest from Novaya Ivanovka village, Chimishliya district, Moldova. Musicians from three villages come to Novaya Ivanovka for rehearsal. Anatoliy, a director of this band comes from Logoneshta village located in 25 kilometers from Novaya Ivanovka. He has been working with this orchestra for 5 years. The band was organized 7 years ago and the first band director was Andrey Zhentimir. An amateur musician gathered a group of youth, found old instruments (made in 1978), musical score and with Lord’s help set about his work. In one year the band played so well, that the director decided that they need to develop their talents even though there was no one in the group with music education! And if they would have new instruments… The Lord helped them to solve both problems: soon they found a sponsor and a professional musician who was ready to teach the youth free of charge and to share his knowledge. Andrey Zhentimir started working with a graduate from Kishinev conservatory Anatoliy Sazhin. Andrey learns each section with individual musicians and Anatoliy conducts rehearsals with the whole band.
– We pay attention not only to a faultless playing, but to a professional performance too, – says Anatoliy. – If a person dedicates himself to the Lord, He will give him a good instrument and time for practice, money and if it is needed, a transportation.
– A woman in a brass band is almost the same as a woman serving in the army. The requirements are the same for everyone. Some girls could not stand the difficulties and left after several rehearsals, – says the band director, – To play in a brass band one needs to be strong that’s why we accept musicians older than 12. It is a hard work!
As Anatoly Sazhin says this is the only brass band in Euro-Asia Division, having really very good wind instruments. Musicians are placed so that the sound would come out of the middle of the orchestra, and is directed to one point. Thus, the mixed product is obtained immediately. We need to mention that this a professional finding of Anatoliy Sazhin who speaks about himself in a Christian modestly: “First and foremost I am a servant to the Lord, and only then, a composer, a bandsman and conductor”.
By the way Anatoliy’s band received an official invitation to play at the GC Session in 2015 in Texas, the USA. Anatoliy has began preparing the program!
– It is a big responsibility and I asked our young players not to leave the band meanwhile, – says the director, – Five musicians finished high school this year and are going to enter the university and now they have to travel 60 km one way to take part in a rehearsal!
As Anatoliy Sazhin says Adventists in many countries still play the old orchestrations, such as they used to play in the 70s. But listening to his orchestra, people understand that it is a completely new level of quality, new approach, new interpretations.
– We went away from understanding that the brass band performance and the marches of Soviet times are the same. It’s not right. We took classics, spirituals, and arrangements of church music. We try to make each piece its own flavor to make it interesting. For example, there is such a technique as “a train” when at first music sounds slowly and then faster and faster.
Thank God for these findings, for the fact that Christian music performed by the orchestra from Moldova touches the strings of the soul and goes into the hearts of listeners.
God gives us the talent and opportunities, and success, as you know, depends on how a person will use them. It’s hard to believe, but in his childhood Anatoliy Sazhin … did not like music.
– – Dad made me go to music school – recognizes the maestro today, – I was in fourth grade, but did not know who my teacher on ear training was, until the father took certain measures. Only after entering a music college, I found out that I have … an absolute pitch! I had the worst score of all applicants, but since there was a shortage of students, I still passed. Since the third year of studies I had only “tens” (the best mark) because I realized that I had to learn. I realized that I have a gift from God. I got to love music! Now music is my life.
Anatoliy Sazhin graduated from Kishinev Conservatory. When he was a student he organized his own brass band and sang in a chamber choir.
– Once we organized a tour around Europe. We have 120 pieces to play and I knew all the words by heart, I set the tone, helping a choir director, – remembers Anatoliy.
You would think that Anatoliy Sazhin received his diploma with majoring in conductorship. In fact God Himself taught a graduate majoring in musicology and a composer to lead an orchestra.
– I attended only three classes on conducting. Dad advised me to go to his teacher. I agreed, though I did not want to go. At the first lesson the teacher and I have made a training schedule. At the second class I took the second program, learned some nuances like posing hands and so on. When it came to the third lesson, I greeted the teacher and reported that I will not attend the classes anymore because … I do not like it. But when I began working with my orchestra, my hands began to move by themselves. Sometimes professors from Moscow Conservatory and conductors attended our concerts. They asked me where I learned to conduct. After hearing my story they realized that I live by music. I sing with my heart, my brain, my hands…
Path of service may not be easy and simple, but the Lord helps to overcome even the most severe trials and to overcome loss. In 2012, after playing at the funeral Anatoliy Sazhin’s orchestra had a terrible car accident on the way home. Five musicians were killed, many were seriously injured and have gone a long way to recovery. Due to some specific effects for some it is more difficult to play the trumpet now. Despite the incident and death of their relatives and friends, today the guys are back in the ranks.
– The accident changed our attitude to life and to ministry to God. We understand that not everyone appreciated what they had or did not understand that everything done for God should be done at a high level – admitted Anatoliy Sazhin. – Members of the orchestra do not play for money. When a person gets nothing for his work, he has a different motivation. For us it is a dedicated service to God. We work for those who need our help. When we ourselves were in trouble, some people overcame several thousand kilometers to help us.
Thank God for being always there for us, no matter in what part of the globe we are. Praise the Creator for a good time in Brest. Here through the language of music we could open to people life and character of Jesus Christ, who said: “It is more blessed to give than to receive”
