Община адвентистов седьмого дня села Великие Окнины отпраздновала тройное событие: посвящение молитвенного дома, восьмидесятую годовщину и праздник благодарения Богу за щедрый урожай.
Просторный зал не смог вместить гостей, приехавших из разных общин, чтобы разделить радость праздника. Торжество посетили пасторы, которые в разные годы служили в этой общине, а также руководители Буковинской конференции — президент Павел Кирилюк, казначей Александр Глушкивский и секретарь Пасторской ассоциации Григорий Головач.
Приглашенные на годовщину служители церкви — Любомир Масюк, Александр Глушкивский, Станислав Ношин, Степан Потюк в своих выступлениях вспоминали эпизоды прошлого, благодарили Бога за нынешние благодатные времена и призвали общину с достоинством выполнить возложенную на Церковь миссию. Свои поздравления передали Иосиф Бураковский, Василий Величко, Василий Капитанчук и Андрей Воевидко. Трогательным было выступление Василия Катюшко, присутствовавшего во время закладки первого камня, а также обращение Адама Андрущука, отец которого, преодолевая пешком расстояние около двадцати километров, 27 лет с любовью заботился об общине. Поздравил присутствующих также областной пастор Иван Заверюха.
«80 лет на пути к вечности» — эта тема красной нитью проходила через всю программу. И хотя в зале не хватало мест, все пытались услышать каждое обращение и пожелание, пение хора и декламацию. Несколько песен прозвучали в сопровождении духового оркестра общины с. Богдановки.
После вкусного обеда, приготовленного членами местной общины, торжественная программа продолжилась. Гости из городов Лановцев, Кременца, Подволочиска, Коломыи, Тернополя и сел Богдановки и Становцев в стихах и песнях присоединились к поздравлениям и благодарности Господу за щедрый урожай. Дети окнинской общины представили небольшую программу, после чего Григорий Головач, взяв в руки сноп колосьев, призвал присутствующих быть налитым колосом для житницы неба. Всех детей, находившихся в зале, пригласили на сцену, после чего была совершена молитва благодарности. Верующие просили Бога благословить подрастающее поколение, чтобы оно достойно провозглашало Евангелие на духовных полях.
История адвентистской общины Великих Окнин берет свое начало в 1933 году, когда Клим Васильевич Витюк, вернувшись из Канады, заключил завет с Господом. Через три года эту весть приняла также его жена Марфа, позже их дети. В нелегкое время антирелигиозной пропаганды о своей пастве на этой территории с любовью заботились Антоний Невьядомский, Дмитрий Фищук, Степан Смык, Иов Андрущук, Павел Бураковский. И хотя этих верных служителей Божьих уже давно нет в живых, память о них ожила на пожелтевших от времени фото, представленных на экране.

Seventh-day Adventist congregation of the village Velyki Okniny celebrated a threefold event: dedication of a new house of worship, the eightieth anniversary and the Harvest festival, thanking God for a generous crop.
The spacious hall couldn’t accomodate the guests who arrived from different churches to share pleasure of the holiday. The celebration was visited by pastors who served in this church in different years, and also by leaders of Bukovinska conference — the president Pavel Kirilyuk, the treasurer Alexander Glushkivsky and the secretary of Ministerial Association Grigory Golovach.
Having congratulated a congregation on a holiday, in his sermon Pavel Kirilyuk paid attention to importance and purpose of the Church and to incessant desire of God to be present not only in the stone building, but also in the hearts of His followers. All congregation, having risen, with awe listened to a prayer of Solomon which was read by Grigory Golovach, and during a litany which was proclaimed by Alexander Glushkivsky amicably repeated “We devote this house”. The prayer of dedication was offered up by the pastor Pavel Kirilyuk.
The ministers invited to anniversary — Lyubomir Masyuk, Alexander Glushkivsky, Stanislav Noshin, Stepan Potyuk in their speeches remembered past episodes, thanked God for present gracious times and urged the congregation to accomplish the mission assigned to the Church. Then the congratulations from Iosif Burakovsky, Vasily Velichko, Vasily Kapitanchuk and Andrey Voyevidko were read. Vasily Katyushko’s speech, who was present during laying of a foundation was especially touching, as well as the address of Adam Andrushchuk whose father had to walk about twenty kilometers, caring for the church for 27 years. Also regional pastor Ivan Zaveryukha congratulated those present.
“80 years on a way to eternity” — this subject stood out through all program. And though there were no vacant seats in the hall, all tried to hear each address and a wish, singing of choir and the recitation. Some songs were accompanied by a wind band of Bogdanovka congregation.
After the tasty dinner prepared by members of a local congregation, the solemn program continued. Guests from the cities of Lanivtsi, Kremenets, Podvolochisk, Kolomyia, Ternopol and villages of Bogdanovka and Stanivtsi in verses and songs joined congratulations and gratitude to the Lord for a generous crop. Children of Velyki Okniny church submitted the small program then Grigory Golovach, having taken a sheaf of ears in his hands, urged those present to be a filled ear for a Heaven granary. All children in the hall were invited to the stage then the gratitude prayer was offered up. Believers asked God to bless younger generation that they could adequately proclaimed the Gospel on spiritual fields.
The history of Velyki Okniny church originates in 1933 when Klim Vasilyevich Vityuk, having returned from Canada, made a covenant with the Lord. In three years this message was also accepted by his wife Marfa, and then by their children. In hard times of antireligious propaganda Anthony Nevyadomsky, Dmitry Fishchuk, Stepan Smyk, Iov Andrushchuk, and Pavel Burakovsky cared of the flock with love in this territory. And though these God’s faithful servants aren’t alive for a long time, memory of them was presented on the screen by the photos which have turned yellow from time.
